The Renault Logan – first perspective – overhaul :-
Submitted by Naveen Athresh
I took a test ride on both petrol and diesel variants.
Here is my take on it too personally ga for this car and I was among those who had great interest for the acquisition of this vehicle (either a BUY HOLD)
Diesel – HOLD , Petrol – BUY we want a chance at an unproven car in the Indian market? Despite leading the ratings on television saying the diesel variant is better than the petrol variant! This has always been one of the points buy each entrant into the market because they (and defects) are largely unproven. The same principle applies in all aspects of product development. We need this trial to determine whether the product meets our needs or not.

Critical parameters for evaluating :-
Mileage – The engineer I spoke told me that the Diesel Logan will easily you a distance of 16-20 km per a litre Diesel. That is good. The gasoline is to give over a distance of 10-12 km on a litre of petrol.
Air-conditioning – Very poor (both variants) – AC was a big letdown. The cooling is not entirely good. A big negative.
Wegdek – this is my biggest green but it seems as if the Mahindra Sales people are trained in this and have done some clever cover up for this by trying to convince customers that the Renault displayed on the website http://www.mahindralogancar. com has shown the fully loaded ground and not the empty space as other manufacturers do. For a safe measure, I took a scale and measured and he came to 172 cms as they said that they are therefore right in a way. The photo confirms that though the scale is not visible.
I drove the car on the rough roads to Bangalore? S airport road and took a detour on a number of rural roads – the well-treated.

Handling and pick-up – the treatment is very smoothly but the steering isn? T as smooth as that, for example, the Honda City / The pick-up is OK – nothing to write home about (both petrol and diesel).
The gear shift is not slick (again, for both variants) – are very tight and requires a full link to printing gear. Overdrive (5th gear) and not easily reversed in the slot – you have to do. The accelerator got stuck a few times, but the technician accompanying us told us was the result of the floor mat – I did not buy his story!
front – This is good – much better than my previous Honda City. The seat is adjustable and the one I drove came with lumbar support so it was really very comfortable. The links must approve some getting used to, because it is not visible – you need the help of the side view mirrors.
The rear during the inversion – this is very bad. The Renault has a high rear section and this makes the inversion of a very small.

The boat – this is useful and very large – as good or even better than my old Honda City.
It looks – well from the front, the average of the back – again, that was his typical workhorse type look. It is not graceful in comparison with my Honda City.
The dashboard – It looks especially bright for the high-end variations where they have a small? Computer? — If this is the correct name, that the base tracks such as a travel magazine, mileage, etc. There is a standard rpm meter similar to the Honda City and the speedometer from 0 to 200 kmph.
The interiors – finish – I think that in their haste to roll out the Renault Logan from their assembly lines, Mahindra and Renault have skipped eye for detail. A classic example is this picture. Look at the finish – are so rough!

I went through the common Indian auto road and uses the right switch for the indicators but to my amazement, the windscreen wipers swishing started! I was told that this is a leftist converted to a right-hand drive car and driving it is the indicator switch to the left! The power windows and the other switches on the central console next to the gear shift. The door opening levers are a bit rough on the vehicle and Diesel the lever even not work (although I would attribute that to more of a localized incorrect wear or use crude to a real manufacturing).
That speaks volumes of the Japanese automobile manufacturers in relation to others, as the French (Renault) or Americans (GM). If this was a Toyota or a Honda car, but the quality of engineers would? Ve scanned the whole thing with a fine-toothed comb. Renault should pay attention to detail, while the sale of their cars in India as they adhere to Carlos Ghosn? S predictions from the sale of 50000 units for Renault to a substantial gain on the Logan? S introduction of the Indian car market.

Apart from the above-mentioned details of the? First perspective? I would like to comment on the pickup and Logan? S ability to climb the slopes,
1. When I test drove the vehicle (Diesel version, 1.5 DLS) in Pune, it was a sad experience, I was unable to mount a head start from where we stopped a signal. This vehicle does not have a good power in second gear. And as already mentioned, the full link to the shifting of the gears.
2. On the slope of 30 degrees, it was really a miserable, I can only climb with the vehicle in gear. 1, second gear would not let me climb at all. This was also the driver who accompanied us from the show room.
I’ve bought, Hyundai? S Verna. For me
Renault showed a complete disappointment.

I’m with you Amit. I was already ready for the purchase of this Renault Logan and was totally dissapointed so much so that I do not even feel like taking a test drive on the petrol variant. I expect more of Renault they were given against such strong competition in India. I hope that their future versions will have sufficient improvements.

I test drove the car. I suspect that you have pointed out the problems. But there are still 2 other important topics. One is that the morons have the open hood (bonnet in India) on the extreme left of the passenger seat! And the next, that even at the highest end version, there is no remote trunk / boot release – can I gotta open the Dicky with a key? How stupid! The car is the price on the 6000? brand in Europe, why is the base model starts at 9000? in India? The upturn was shitty, even in the 1.6 engine. I thought it was good gearbox and the brakes are very powerful.

10. Dheeraj Sharma says:
I drove the car (diesel DLS), was OK but the engine is under-powered.Engine should have been at least the same as using Renault is Europe namely 1.4 DCI with 70hp. It seems Renault is the adoption of the older stock engine in India.
Armste things were the body (paint quality) finish, dashboard color (boring beige) and a matte silver Louvre, the gear-button finish. It seems some old man has designed / chosen the colors for the Logan. Also the back seat was very poorly designed, particularally the head.
In nut-shell with the exception of the mileage and the space is all bad.

I? M all to buy diesel Logan. Me? M just waiting for Mahinrda replacing the windscreen wipers moving in the opposite direction. The current direction wiper not clear the glass properly and under heavy rains pass on the full clear vision. Some parts of the front glass are not cleaned. The current implementation of wiper is suitable for left hand drive.

Hoi,
Over the comments that I have suggestions on? Mahindra Logan? The car was just great, but a lil changes in shape and budget is not too high
(minimum budget) and I m sure the railway would be a big hit on the road compared with cars of his class’.
you can get back to me in person to know what I might reveal of the company.
Thanks & Regards
Vinod (well wisher)
